Her career is unparalleled, having been appointed in 1988 as a Deputy Registrar in the Family Court, a position she held until 1992, when she then joined and led a specialist family law team in a specialist family law firm. Louise Henderson then returned to the Family Court as a Registrar and was quickly promoted to the position of Senior Registrar, a position she held for four years.
